So Long, 2019! Our most magical memories of the year.

Updated: Jan 3, 2020

This year has been a big one--it's the year Happiest Adventures on Earth was born! We asked our Happiest Agents: besides coming together as a team to create magical vacations for our clients, what's your favorite travel memory from 2019?

For Brooke, a special Disney Cruise was the highlight of the year. "This summer we went on a 5-night 'double dip' cruise to Castaway Cay and had an amazing time.  Seeing the Mickey Ears at Port Canaveral always gets us excited as we wait for our boarding number."

When you walk through this Mickey tunnel, you leave your cares behind!

Did you know that the Disney Cruise App has a countdown? You can also schedule a call from a Disney character to wish you well on your sailing! We can arrange these things for you when we book your Disney Cruise.

For Emily, escaping to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter was the most magical moment. "My family had a quick trip to Universal Orlando over Veterans' Day weekend, and it was just perfect. We spent a couple nights at my kids' favorite Universal hotel, Cabana Bay, swimming and enjoying all the retro cuteness and lazy river. Then we hopped over to my favorite, Portofino Bay, for a little more luxury -- and Express Passes!"

"Best of all, we got to experience Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, once in during the day, and once at night under an incredible full moon. November might be my new favorite time to visit. The Halloween crowds have disappeared, and the holiday decorations are beginning to pop up all over the parks and hotels."

Jennifer's 2019 was a year of coast-to-coast Disney experiences! "It’s not a secret that I love Disney. Always have. This year was so amazing because I got to plan and share so many magical Disney memories with the people I love the most. My mom, my two kids, my husband, and even my in-laws. Each trip was unique in its own way and made 2019 a year that will be hard to top for this Mickey-loving family! "

First up for Jennifer's family, Walt Disney World: "It’s hard to choose a favorite because all three Disney trips my family experienced in 2019 were different and special in their own way. Spring break with my kids and mom was memorable because it was exactly 30 years from the time just my mom and I went to Disney World when I was in second grade. My daughter was in second grade on our 2019 trip and for me that was a real full circle moment to enter Magic Kingdom 30 years later with the two most important ladies in my life making memories in my favorite place. I hope one day I can join Maggie and her kids and she can experience the same feelings I did by planning a surprise spring break trip for she and her brother with their “weezer” and me."

Three generations of magical memories!

From there, Jennifer's family hit up the west coast for a dose of where the Disney magic began! "At the beginning of 2019 we asked the kids where we should go for family vacation. The immediate response was 'Disneyland'! So in June we flew to Southern California for time with my west coast family and two days at Disneyland. I had been once about 20 years ago, before Disney’s California Adventure was even open, so the experience was really a new one for all of us. While we loved the thrills of the Incredicoaster, bright colors of Pixar Pier, racing around in Lightning McQueen in Carsland, and flying high on Soarin', my favorite memories from the trip are the hours we spent in Disneyland Park. The nostalgia and classic rides the park offers can’t be matched. My favorite rides were the some of the originals. Snow White’s Scary Adventures, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, and Pinocchio’s Daring Journey were my top three. It was magical to go to where it all started for Walt Disney in terms of movies and attractions. The kids are already begging to go back in 2020!"

Hanging out at Pixar Pier!

And having covered all the U.S. Disney parks, the only logical way to round out the year was a cruise! "Our final Disney memory for 2019 was a multigenerational Disney cruise for Christmas. My in-laws gifted the four of us, my brother in law and his wife and son with a 4 night Merrytime Cruise for our Christmas gift this year. This was the first cruise for all 9 of us and it was so special to spend the time together only days before Christmas and the chaos the holiday season can sometimes bring. The unique character interactions, wonderful dining experiences, on board activities and shows did not disappoint. However the crowd favorite was the day at Disney’s island, Castaway Cay. It’s sometime tricky to find something for a large group of people ranging in ages from 3 to 65 to all enjoy equally, but we found it at Castaway Cay. Water slides, sand for digging, calm water to splash in, and shady spots to read and relax under made the day our favorite! I think we all decided our next cruise needs to have two stops at Castaway Cay!"
